3 EASY WAYS TO FIT EXERCISE INTO YOUR DAY

If you’re like most people, at one point or another, you’ve probably made a goal to commit a couple of hours of your week to your personal fitness. But we all know that setting those goals are the easy part. The hard part comes when you try to turn those goals into a daily routine.

So how do you go from setting a goal to turning it into an everyday thing? If you take any of these 3 steps, you’ll be well on your way.

#1 Make it part of your morning commute

The first question you should ask yourself is, “can I ditch the car or bus and make exercise part of my morning commute?”

Whether your morning commute means heading to work, dropping the kids off at school or running errands look for ways to make it active and multitask. Not only will you get your exercise out of the way early, you’ll have purpose behind it and you’ll be able to pocket the cash you won’t be spending on gas.

#2 Get outside during your lunches

Do you get a lunch or daily breaks throughout the day? Instead of skimming Facebook or playing on your phone, take these opportunities to step away from your desk and head outside.

It doesn’t need to be strenuous exercise but even going for a 15-minute walk or jog around the office can go a long way. You’re getting that break anyway so why not be efficient with your exercise goals and take advantage of your lunch hour?

#3 Get your workout in before you get home

Just like when you’d ask if for ice cream after supper as a kid and you were told “maybe”, a classic mistake everybody makes is telling themselves, “I’ll do it after I get home” or “after we eat supper” knowing full-well that this means it’s not going to happen.

The best way to avoid this mistake is to do it before you even step foot inside your home. Whether this means you run, bike or walk home or signup for a class after work, not giving yourself the opportunity to say “I’ll do it later…” is the only sure-fire way to make post-work fitness part of your daily routine.
